Paddles great I don’t have the peddle drive. I am a beginning kayaker and kayak fisherman and it is easy to maneuver. Transports easily in a GMC Acadia. Small footprint storage. It takes me a little effort to assemble and disassemble but it is solid and stable out on the water. It is not a struggle to assemble but it also doesn’t just fall together. The rail system makes it able to configure however you want.
Kayakish.com did a great job answering my questions and shipped it safely.
Just now getting to try. Bought it last month from Kayakish.com and today was the first time out. Shipping was fast and the customer service was great. It seems pretty easy to put together.Looking forward to using it.
Have used my seaeagle 385fta numerous times now and love how stable it is on the water. There is lots of floor space for gear when fishing or an extra passenger or two. The boat boat paddles easy and tracks good when calm. A bit harder to control with a wind on a lake but that is to be expected with how much of the boat is on top of the water. Easy to inflate or deflate. All the pieces do take up a fair bit of room but can still fit in the back of any car or SUV. The weight is ok for me but a little to heavy for my wife or daughter to lift and carry for any distance. The only things that could be better is if it was a bit lighter and cost less. Over all I am very pleased with this inflatable kayak and would recommend it to anyone.
We bought the Cataraman from Kayakish.com and it must be said it is a great boat from Sea Eagle. There was lots of wind on the lake and the electric motor was awesome. The motor is perfect for trolling for trout. We were able to assemble it easily with the help of the video. A must buy for any boat lover.
My Sea Eagle Explorer 300x was one of the best purchases I have ever made from Kayakish. I purchased the 300x last summer for use in a variety of different water types here in Western Pennsylvania and it has certainly exceeded my expectations. From rapids to open lakes, this kayak performs beautifully. I have taken it on many rivers and lakes last season, and I already have had it out on several warm days this season. The kayak is extremely well made, very rugged and durable. I've smashed it up against some debris and rocks, scraped it along river rocks, and you would never even know! The kayak is also really stable; I've encouraged a few folks who are afraid of the water to get in the boat and try it out--and they feel very safe. I also purchased the Quicksail, and have been enjoying doing a bit of sailing on the open water. I'm really impressed with how light it is, portable it is, and versatile it is. As a wild food forager and nature lover, owning the kayak has opened up some new foraging opportunities as well.
Sturdy and well-constructed appearing. It is amazingly big. Inflates and deflates quickly. We used this to push out into the lake and swim off of. I was surprised we could climb back into it without it flipping over. Excellent price when compared to other websites.
Used it for the first time and it was easy to inflate and moved well in the water. Never felt like it was going to tip.
So, after a few weeks of rain and work conflicts I got to take our Sea Eagle 12.6sr out for the first time. Boy was I impressed! True, I had limited experience with only 2 other inflatables but right from the get go it was a blast. The SE is NOT just marketing hype. It is a solid, well made boat. It's not tippy even when standing up as I tried at the dock. I had the inflatable floor a little under inflated but it still felt solid and I could sense it absorbing ripples and small waves giving me a smooth ride. It's easy to get up on a plane and went a lot faster than I thought it would with a Tohatsu 6hp. The best feature is the external inflatable keel. Steering was crisp and precise whether planing or at low speeds. The other inflatables I tried had a tendency to wander and needed constant attention at the tiller to maneuver. In all I spent a solid 2 hours and traveled over five and a half miles, and didn't even drain the small internal tank. Not bad for my first time out. Can't wait to go again.
I only used mine for about 2/3 of a season, simply because I waited too long to order for a full season. Ordering and delivery was easy, however I'm not sure what the county tax Sea Eagle charges is, as we have none on this type of boat. Assembly and set up are easy, and only take a few minutes. I did however leave mine inflated after the first few times, and kept it stored upside down on saw horses, and covered with a tarp. I transported mine on top of a Subaru Forested as well as a F150 with a camper shell, and it behaved well on both. I used it on flat and river water, with and without the skeg, and with the swivel fishing seat as well as a kayak seat. The boat behaves and tracks well for what it is intended for. The build quality is top notch, and had no issues from that standpoint. As far as customer service, I don't know, as I never had to use them. Would I recommend this boat ? If you love to fish, camp and explore from the water, and need extreme storage and stability, then yes I do.
Just some lake and pond tours for now. Plan to get it out on the rivers and rapids this year. Very easy to set up and room for the dog. Comfortable and easy to break down and stow. We would definitely recommend this brand to anyone. Glad webought them. Thanks Kayakish
The first thought I had when I saw this kayak was DANG ! This thing HUGE!!! It came wrapped in bubble wrap , thick plastic sheeting, with a bit of tape holding some black padding at the bow and the stern. My second thought was the packing material seemed flimsy and unable to provide adequate protection for such a large and awkwardly shaped item. Once I got it unwrapped, it took a couple of us in my condos Receiving department to carry the kayak out to my assigned storage rack. We were very careful with how we transported the kayak. This thing is heavy and can only be carried by the straps at the bow and stern or by the two handle straps on the port and starboard side. After we had it secured in its storage rack I took a few pictures to send to my husband. We took it out for a quick run. We absolutely loved the way it handled. The ride was smooth and stable. It didnt wobble or feel like it would topple over in a stiff wind or with any sudden movement. I felt completely safe if my comfortable padded seat. Im so glad we chose this Zambezi kayak. We plan on sharing many adventures in our new favorite water toy!!!
First of all, we love this boat! We're a family of four who travels and RVs. We enjoy the water and fishing and really wanted a true boat, but it wasn't feasible with a fifth wheel RV in tow. So I surprised my husband with this for Father's Day this year, and we just love it! Plenty of room for a cooler, PFDs, and a couple of poles, plus two adults and our pre-teen sons. We can load it into the fifth wheel and take it anyplace.
Brilliant product! Easy to store and easy to transport. Best of all it provides a supper stable platform for fishing. I can stand up to cast with confidence and know that I have no risk of losing my balance and end up, upside down minus my fishing tackle. There is not a boat in the world that can provide this level of safety and convenience for fishing.
I love my new 385fta .I bought it late fall and was able to enjoy the fall foliage here in N.J. I gave up my traditional hard sit inside kayak for my new Inflatable for a couple of reasons. I am 6'1 240 lbs. My sit in was fine if I just wanted to paddle. Then I started fishing in it and it was tight. Years back I owned a Sea Eagle SE9 till my nephew took it over. Then one day I was starting to look for a new fishing/recreational kayak . The hard bodied ones were way to heavy for me to transport without a trailer. Then I receive in the mail a Sea Eagle catalog from Kayakish. To make this long story shorter I purchased the 385fta. It is so comfortable glides through the water. Mainly lakes though I had it in the bay on calm days for fishing no problems. I can move around comfortably and safety. Throw my legs in the water. It is super stable. I love it. I can deflate it for long trips, our use my Hullavator for short trips. It is light enough to carry to shore withoutbreaking your back. Out of text. Or I would say more !
